Robert Glenn Hewelt, WW II veteran US Army Ranger, carried a 12 gauge shotgun as forward observer, Patton’s 3rd Army in Europe, taken prisoner by German forces, sustained severe injuries during captivity, escaped, recuperated, served at Nuremburg Trials, returned state-side, married his bride, Shirley, attended culinary school, became first a cook, then chef, always worked several jobs during his career, always provided a wonderful home for his bride and three children.

Soldier, artisan, husband, and our father, at the age of 49 years, died, December 7, 1973. The funniest, kindest man I’ve ever known… my dad.
